We have finally arrived in Budapest for the last day of our cruise, we have had a great time and will miss being looked after and will miss some of the people we have come to know. Budapest is split by the Danube River; this was originally 3 towns, Pest on one side and Buda & Old Buda on the other, they joined in 1873 and became Budapest. interestingly one of the bridges here was built by Eiffel who built the Eiffel tower in Paris, he designed and built many bridges in Europe, but this is the only one that has survived, and even this was damaged and rebuilt after the war.
This is the most beautiful city we have seen; the buildings are breathtaking and with the river running through it is just stunning. Could easily have stayed on top of the hill and just watched the view.
Don't you love the idea of raising money to get the man's car fixed???
We have to be out of our cabins by 9am and off the boat by 10am tomorrow, straight to the airport for London then drive to Bath, so may not update tomorrow.
