Miltenberg - Wertheim

A fairly relaxed day today; this morning we had a Zither player come on board and entertain us for an hour playing this incredible instrument; he said it is like playing 3 guitars at once. It has 42 strings - 5 for melody and 37 accompany strings. Very clever. There are only 2000 ppl in the world who can play them.

After lunch we went into 2 medieval towns, first Miltenberg for a couple of hours before boarding a bus and driving 30 minutes to Wertheim. Another couple of hours there then a walk to the river to wait for the boat to pick us up.  We are on the river Main; Bavaria is on the left of us. There are over 30 locks in this section of the river so it is a slow ride having to stop quite often and it taking up to half an hour to get through each lock, but it's all good and part of the experience. The lock system is amazing to watch.
